Technology: dangerous or useful thing?

Today, we do not imagine our lives without technology. We became so dependent on them that any change will necessarily touch us and you. But are technology really safe?

In this regard, our teacher of informatics has set the task for us to find out: technology is a dangerous or useful thing?

Therefore, my task will be to clarify this issue. Let's start!

 What are the benefits of technology?

1. Technology allows you to find information in seconds. In fact, if you need to quickly find the blog of our 10-A class or read the news of the NVK "Obolon", you just have to go online and find the right site.

2. Differentiated learning. Educational applications allow students to choose their own learning pace. Programs can adapt to the needs of the student and his level of knowledge. In addition, the variety of applications and applications allows students to learn the same material, using different systems for that, depending on their interests and learning methods.

3. Auxiliary technologies for special needs. Educational technologies enable students with special needs to succeed in the learning environment. Beginning with adaptive word processors and ending with programs that speak instead of children with speech impairments, technology enables students to communicate and work with teachers and classmates.

4. Different forms of training. Introducing technologies in the classroom means that students will have access to different learning methods. Perhaps someone really suits the format of lectures, and somebody is easier to learn by himself, taking information from the curriculum. If students will be able to choose their own way of learning, they will try different methods and eventually find the one that suits them the most.

5. Data and analytical reports. Through various programs and applications, teachers can combine all the necessary information about the student: his status, attendance, success, English knowledge, participation in additional classes. Also, most educational apps include reporting functionality, so ratings can be easily passed to the school administration or parents.

What are the disadvantages?

1.Тechnology make us alone. Unlimited access to social networks encourages people to spend more time in a virtual environment, looking for new friends and interlocutors. At the same time, a person forgets about real communication, which can lead to loneliness.

2. Easy access to someone else's work. Plagiarism is an eternal problem for teachers. Today, students can quickly find online essays, abstracts, lectures, tests, etc. And it is difficult for teachers to determine who this is actually a job. Although there are special programs that help to identify plagiarism, there is no perfect system for this.

3. Technique is distracting. This is perhaps the most worrying for most teachers when using technology in the classroom: the experience that students will be too busy social networks than the lesson. Congenital curiosity of students combined with their technical education can lead to online communication in an environment where easy access to computers or mobile devices.

4.Privacy. Protecting student information and personal data is a significant cause for many teachers and schools to refuse to make extensive use of technology.

5. Development of diseases. A sedentary lifestyle causes a number of unpleasant diseases such as diabetes mellitus, obesity, insomnia, joint pain and muscle pain.
